HI, I'M LAUREN ...
I grew up in Florida where the Gulf of Mexico and the Banyan trees were my teachers. I didn't know they were my teachers back then. I struggled with substances and depression at a very young age up until I was in my early 30s.
In 2009, I started working with teachers and plant medicine from the Amazon in Peru. That was my last ditch effort to feel good in this body in this lifetime.
After a serious back injury in 2013 that led to the initiation of a deep healing process, I stopped using substances to make me feel good. As Frida Khalo says, "I used to drink to drown my sorrows, then those bastards learned to swim."
I dove deep into my Iyengar Yoga practice to heal my body, not realizing the depth in which it would also heal my mind. I have studied closely with Iyengar's most senior teachers and spent time learning from elders in the foothills of the Himalayas.
In 2017, I experienced a lot of grief that awakened trauma in my body. That's when I found Holotropic Breathwork. This practice allowed me to move this trauma though my body and process it in a safe nonverbal space. I am still in awe of this practice years later as I continue to transform into the person I have always wanted to be.
A happy being.
I truly see the pain and suffering I have endured in my life as great teachers. It has given me the insight to approach healing work through the lens of personal felt experience. It is an honor to hold space for others and watch their personal transformation.
